The last Jedi

How exciting! This Thursday we are going to watch the latest of the Star Wars saga. I am extra excited since I am going, for the first time, to watch it “live” with my two sons. I must admit that I don’t know what to expect. Is it going to be as good as The Empire (there was a lot of things in common between A new hope and The force awakens, so one can expect that the resemblance will continue to the second movie of the trilogy…)? Is it going to be break our hearts in regards to Luke? Is it going to entertain us, or give us more to think about? I really don’t know.

What I do know, is that I can’t accept the title. What do you mean the last jedi? How can that be? That’s like giving up on Agile and saying it’s dead. That’s absurd. The only rumor I heard that might make sense of this, is that Rey is going to start a new thing – something in between a Jedi and a Sith. Not sure I like this, but I guess that’s the equivalent of saying that Agile is evolving to Teal or some other ultra new concept. (See my previous post on the connection between Agile and Star Wars and on on the dark side of Agile).

Another thing is that, spoiler alert!!! …………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….Han Solo is dead, and Han Solo was always my favorite character in Star Wars. That’s because Obi Wan Kenobi died in the first movie, so I couldn’t expect to get much more out of him (that was before the prequels of course). So without Han Solo, and without Obi Wan Kenobi, I don’t really have someone I can be in favor of. Maybe Luke. And that’s where it gets even trickier, since Luke seems, from the trailer and rumours, that he is not the optimistic young jedi we all grew up on. Rey? Don’t really know her. Fin? no clue. The rest? don’t really care. So I am left with the hope that Luke will not totally disappoint us, and will resemble some of the character we looked up to, more than 30 years ago…

Answers are coming real soon. Yummy… 🙂
